Har Bracha Institute of Publications

The Har Bracha Institute of Publications is an organization that deals with the publication and distribution of research and spiritual creativity stemming from the Beit Midrash of Yeshivat Har Bracha. A team of researchers is dedicated to the development and dissemination of the wisdom of Torah in numerous and diverse ways.

The Institute has published the series “Pninei Halacha” written by the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Eliezer Melamed. In addition, three volumes of the book Revivim, a compilation of articles written by Rabbi Melamed from the newspaper “Basheva”, has been published.

The Har Bracha Institute of Publications has published the series of books by Rabbi Tzadok HaCohen from Lublin, meriting the Jewish nation and the many students of his teachings with a new and beautiful edition, complete with source indications and a detailed subject glossary.

The Institute has also published the books of Rabbi Ze’ev Sultanovich. So far, in the series “Bina L’Itim”, an in-depth look at Jewish identity, history, and philosophy, two volumes covering the period from Creation till the Expulsion from Spain have been published. In the series of books clarifying the writings of Rabbi Kook, explanations to the books “Orot Yisrael” and “L’mahalach Ha’Idiyot B’Yisrael” have been published. The Institutes researchers are diligently working on various other projects.

Study Programs for Schools

We have created a special team whose goal is to raise the level of study of halachah in religious-Zionist schools. In association with the Ministry of Education and numerous high schools, the team works to create new and interesting scholastic programs to fit the needs of the students based on the series “Pininei Halachah”.

The team has been very successful in deepening the study of halacha, both in quality and quantity, and in raising the level of Torah study in the school system.

The series “Pininei Halachah” has been incorporated into the scholastic curriculum of many Yeshivot and Ulpanot throughout the country, and a matriculation exam has been approved by the Ministry of Education based on the series.

Study Programs in History

The Institutes’ team has initiated this project to address the growing challenge of anti-Zionist tendencies influencing history curricula in Israeli schools. We have engaged both professionals specializing in this ideological research and top-line professional researchers and writers in Israel.

Three books have already been published and currently serve as the main History textbooks taught in religious schools in Israel:

  1. “Tradition and Revolutions” – Tradition and modernity in the history of peoples and the history of Israel – for 10th grade students.
  2. “Destruction and Heroism” – Nazism and the Holocaust for 11th grade students.
  3. “The Return to Zion” – Aliya, Settlement, and Independence (for 11th grade).

There is a great need for high-level educational materials, both in content and visual design, that are suited to the most recent course of study for matriculation exams as outlined by the Ministry of Education.

Torah and Secular Wisdom

The Institute is a partner in the publication of additional books dealing with the relationship between Torah and science. One of the scientists that the Institute assists in publishing his books is Professor Benjamin Fain.

Professor Fain is a world-known physicist who was a ‘refusenik’ and fought the K.G.B.

Upon immigrating to Israel he was accepted as a physics lecturer in the chemistry department of Tel Aviv University.

The Har Bracha Institute of Publications is a partner in the publication of his books with the goal of advancing and deepening interest in these topics amongst the Torah community.

Jewish Identity

The Institute has published additional books dealing with culture, creativity, and Jewish identity.
